The mission of the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living is to make Vermont the best state in which to grow old or to live with a disability ~ with dignity, respect and independence.
The Adult Services Division supports older Vermonters and adults with disabilities to live as they choose, pursuing their individual goals and preferences within their chosen communities. This is accomplished through the effective and efficient management of long-term services and supports programs throughout the state.
Together with its partners, the Adult Services Division aims to:
- Promote the health, well-being and safety of our communities,
- Enhance program effectiveness and accountability by providing effective leadership for disability and aging policy and services in Vermont,
- Reduce the impact of poverty, and
- Reform Vermont’s health system.
